Community Violence Intervention Program

Reducing Violence. Strengthening Communities.

The Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Program is a city-sponsored initiative designed to reduce fatal and non-fatal shootings in Montgomery through a series of evidence-based interventions. By working directly with individuals and communities most affected by gun violence, the program fosters safety, healing, and long-term solutions.


This Program is Funded by the Montgomery City Council and Montgomery County Commission

Still A Mother: A Special Healing Event

Join us for “Still A Mother,” a heartfelt event dedicated to honoring mothers who continue to carry love, loss, and legacy in their lives. This meaningful gathering creates a safe and supportive space for reflection, connection, and healing.

This special event will include a variety of uplifting and restorative experiences designed to support healing and community:


  • Inspirational tribute honoring mothers
  • Panel discussion with shared stories and insights
  • Art & crafts, massage, and therapy sessions
  • Candlelight memorial to reflect and remember

Standing together in remembrance, hope, and strength was the goal of Saturday's remembrance walk in downtown Montgomery.

Prevention & Intervention – How We Help

Through a combination of prevention, intervention, and support, our program provides:
  • Conflict Mediation & Crisis Response– Rapid response teams work to de-escalate conflicts before they turn violent.
  • Street Outreach & Mentorship– Trusted community members connect with at-risk individuals, offering guidance and resources.
  • Victim Support & Trauma Counseling– Helping survivors and their families heal from the impact of violence.
  • Employment & Life Skills Training– Career support, financial education, and skills development for long-term stability.
  • Community Engagement & Advocacy– Building partnerships to create safer neighborhoods and promote nonviolence.
